I didn’t even do High Notes last week. Yup, it’s been that kind of month. Last weekend was crazy busy and a Sunday post just wasn’t going to happen.
The good news? This week you get two whole weeks’ worth of High Notes in one post! Favorite links, posts from around these parts, and stuff I’m loving right now.
12 Things a Highly Sensitive Person Needs by Jenn Granneman at Introvert, Dear
“Like most sensitive people, I’m deeply affected by my surroundings, especially the way they look. Cluttered, chaotic, or just plain ugly environments bother me.”
Pursue Biblical Womanhood by Kelly Ladd Bishop at Huffington Post
All the Things You Can No Longer Buy if You’re Really Boycotting Trans-Friendly Businesses by Samantha Allen
“And last but not least, if you are so upset with Target for allying themselves with the transgender community that you’re willing to boycott, you may have to stop reading this article right now and unplug your Internet.”

What I’m Loving This Week:
I’m so old. I’d never even heard the original version of this song before this past week. But I played for a show choir concert this week and they performed this piece a cappella. I’ve been singing it constantly for days. Haunting, beautiful and tragic.
This is one of the best bundles I’ve seen in a while. I’m especially excited about the courses included, like Tsh Oxenreider’s Upstream Field Guide (reg. $59) and The Nester’s Cozy Minimalist Mom (reg. $39). Right now you can get the entire bundle for just $29, so even if you only bought it for these two courses, you’d still be getting a HUGE discount.
To see everything included in the bundle, click here. But do it soon. The sale ends tomorrow, May 2nd, at 11:59 p.m. Don’t miss out on this great deal!
Mine’s on its way! Today’s the last day to get all these fantastic Mrs. Meyer’s products for FREE, so click here to claim yours.
4. The 21 Day Fix Diet and Exercise Program
Out of sheer desperation to lose some weight already, I ordered this kit and I’m now on day thirteen. So far I’ve lost five and a half pounds.
If I were 30-something, I would’ve already lost twice that, but middle-aged beggars can’t be choosers. The eating plan is super simple and a piece of cake (well, unfortunately not a literal piece of cake) after doing Whole 30. The daily exercise videos are 30 minutes long, so I’ve been able to fit them into my schedule fairly easily. I’ll let you know how it turns out after 21 days.
Oh my, this is funny and sarcastic and just what I need in a TV show. Thank you Tina Fey and Netflix!
This Week’s Lyrics for Life:
Earth Song by Frank Ticheli
Two of the choirs I accompanied for contest this year performed this piece. It is lovely and too good not to share. Music is a gift and a refuge.
Sing, Be, Live, See
This dark stormy hour,
the wind, it stirs.
The scorched Earth cries out in vain.
Oh war and power, you blind and blur. The torn heart cries out in pain.
But music and singing have been my refuge,
and music and singing shall be my light.
A light of song, shining strong.
Through darkness and pain and strife,
I’ll sing, I’ll be, live, see.
Peace and music to you, my lovely readers. You mean the world to me.
